The PAO - Period After Opening symbol, also known as the open jar symbol, means the time after opening the packaging (from the first time the product is used for its intended purpose), in which the product can be safely used. The PAO symbol is most often placed on cosmetics packaging with durability above 30 months. In such cases, the manufacturer may not place the date of minimum durability on the packaging, but must place the mentioned PAO mark.
